ChrissyV7313February 2013 – I have been at one-1 fitness for about 3 and a half months now. I came here looking to get that last bit of weight off, get into shape and be healthy. Since I’ve been here I’ve lost 14 pounds and am feeling better than ever. The staff has been nothing but a great help and awesome motivators  getting me to achieve my goals. Its been an amazing experience  so far and I couldn’t have gone to a better place.

My weight went from 184 lbs to 158 lbs. I feel great, and I have managed to take an average of 30-40 seconds a kilometer off my running pace.

What made you decide to visit One-to-1 Fitness?

I would like to say I had some life changing event but it came down to my wife. She had been training with Cabel and One-to-1 Fitness for years and one day she brought our entire family out to watch the Glory and Food Client Revenge Trainer Challenge, a fundraiser for the food bank, and that’s when I met my soon to be trainer. It was love at first site (ha-ha). Until this point I had never attended a gym or had any interest in going, they actually make me squirm.

What Exactly have your results been training at One To 1 Fitness?

When I first started coming to the gym in October of last year I saw great results, dropping 10 to 15 pounds and loosing over 9″ in little over a month. After a family vacation the wheels fell off the bus where all self control was left in Red Deer and upon my return all my progress slowly dissolved. It wasn’t until late July where I had a renewed drive to actually see some results. With the meal program my trainer had laid out for me, his personal focus during our training appointments  and my determination to see actual results I was able to turn the corner. From July 15th to October 10th my weight went from 184 lbs to 158 lbs. I feel great, and I have managed to take an average of 30-40 seconds a kilometer off my running pace.

What do you think has been different about One-to-1 Fitness vs other programs you have tried?

Its kind of funny because I almost feel more accountable to my trainer than I do with my wife, almost! I think he actually cares about his clients and wants them to achieve their goals. So when asked if  One-to-1 Fitness has had much of an influence on my success I would say definitely!

Would you recommend One-to-1 Fitness and why?

For individuals that feel uncomfortable at a busy gym not knowing what they are doing, I think One-to-1 Fitness is excellent. For such a “Meat Head”, my trainer can guilt me into doing anything and pushes me to new limits. I give my trainer and my wife all the credit in the world for all the gains that I have made.

What made you decide to visit One-To-1 Fitness?

I finally decided to have a healthier lifestyle and also to get into some sort of half decent physical shape. I had read Cabel’s articles on Health, Nutrition and Physical fitness and liked what I read. So I decided to sign up with One-to-1 so that I would learn the proper ways of exercising and working out. I like having the commitment of an appointment 3 times a week.

What exactly has been your results training at One-To-1 Fitness?

I have gone from 205lbs in January to 183 pounds in May. My body fat has gone down from 28% to less than 18% and I’ve gained 16lbs of muscle.

I am in much better physical shape. I feel better. I have more energy and believe it or not I actually really look forward to my training sessions.

I would like to sincerely thank my coach. My coach took an interest in my training and in trying to get me in shape to run in the Woody’s half marathon (21km) which was one of my goals when I started. Without his help I know I probably would not have reached that goal. I am old enough to be his granddad- yet he relates extremely well and has great people skills.

What do you think has been different about One-To-1 Fitness vs. other programs you have tried?

The difference and what sets One-to-1 apart from competition is their staff: knowledgeable, professional, caring, patient, plus a little bit of a task master. Which some of us need from time to time to push ourselves a little further and harder.

I feel really confident that my trainer knows his “stuff”, which exercises work which muscles and why.

The biggest thing for me is the “One-to 1” personal attention and your own tailored training plan. Personalized Training!

Would you recommend One-To-1 Fitness and why?

Yes I would- in fact I already have and one of them has joined. With the “Personalized Training” that I have received from One-to-1 I have lost 25lbs, am in better physical shape and also completed the Woody’s half marathon in 2hrs 12min. This is great considering at the beginning of February I could barely run a block.

What made you decide to visit One-to-1 Fitness?

“I joined One-to-1 Fitness in August with two of my roommates. I wanted to feel better, have more energy and learn about diet and exercise. The trainers are very upbeat and keep you moving and the results are worth all the hard work from both myself and them.”

What exactly has been your results training at One-to-1 Fitness?

“Each month through measurements and goal setting I have felt and improvement in my measurements. I have lost 5.95 inches throughout my body in the last 2 months alone. Most importantly I have gained more energy and knowledge. Before One-to-1 I wasn’t able to keep a regular schedule for exercise, but through being accountable to my appointments I have been able to keep going. It’s motivating and also inspiring to be more active and try different activities.”

What do you think has been different about One-to-1 Fitness vs other programs you have tried?

“Having a trainer is motivating. They laugh with you making the exercising go faster, the encouragement to keep your diet and cardio makes you make better choices when you’re not at the gym. The trainer will call you if you don’t show up.”

Would you recommend One-to-1 Fitness and why?

“I would defiantly recommend One-to-1 Fitness even just to have an assessment, and to get started with the right program for you. I keep going because they make it fun and interesting and I want to stay feeling great and healthy. I would also recommend the sauna and massage package too as it helps for relaxation and staying in shape! The admin staff are also very welcoming and organized.”

I had heard about One-to-1 Fitness from a friend of mine that was going there. It tweaked my interest since I wanted to lose weight and I had struggled with that for many years. I was interested in weight training and fitness in general but only achieved short term results in the past.

I am thrilled with my results with One-to-1 Fitness! I have lost 50lbs which I am happy about, I have also become stronger. My success also includes decreasing knee pain to being almost pain free. Loving a variety of sports but feeling limited because of knee pain, this improvement is very exciting.

At One-to-1 Fitness success comes from the fact that your program is individualized. The trainers work with you to achieve your goals. From diet to exercise One-to-1 gets you on track with lots of encouragement and positive feedback. Since I started with One-to-1 Fitness I have lost 38 lbs!

I would totally recommend One-to-1 Fitness. The trainers are well trained, friendly and genuinely care about their clients’ progress and success in whatever goals have been set.

Lots of people have asked me “What made you decide to visit One-to-1 Fitness”. I tell them that I have been a single mom my son’s whole life and all my attention was focused on his needs. Well this year he graduated and I thought, this is now my time to pay attention to my needs and my needs include loosing weight and getting in shape.

When I heard the radio ads for One-to-1 Fitness, I researched them on the internet, liked what I read and decided to give them a shot.

Since I started with One-to-1 Fitness I have lost 38 lbs with 30 of those pounds being lost in the last 5 months. We have achieved two of my short term goals so far. The first one was to loose 10 lbs, which was done at the end of August and the second goal was to be less than 250 lbs by the beginning of December. Well, it was a week late but as of December 10th I am 249.9 lbs on my scale. “Woot Woot!” (My trainer is just finding this out for the first time too!)

My next goal is to be less than 240 lbs by the beginning of January and the holiday eating is not going to get in the way of that goal.

The difference I have found from One-to-1 Fitness has been the education I have received about eating, exercise, and life style changes. I never realized that some of the foods I have been putting in my body that I thought were healthy were not. It is also nice to have one trainer who concentrates solely on me during my session encouraging me, correcting me and making it all fun.

This time I wasn’t looking for overnight results…and I lost over 20lbs!

2013-03-11 19.00.40I originally joined One-to-1 Fitness because I was motivated to get in shape and lose weight for my upcoming wedding. I felt like I had tried everything, from going to the gym on my own, Atkins diet, Weight Watchers, P90X,Dr.Bernstien and I even resorted to the very expensive Laser Liposuction, and nothing worked (more like I didn’t stick with it long enough to see results). I have struggled with weight fluctuations my entire life and at 30 I just didn’t want it to be an issue anymore. This time I wasn’t looking for overnight results, I knew I needed something that would be sustainable; a complete lifestyle change. What I didn’t know was that what I really wanted was to be STRONG, not just skinny – Strong in lifting weights, strong in my stamina, strong in my willpower and strong in my ability to make the right choices and to not give up. My trainer at One-to-1 helps me to achieve; she motivates me to push myself and to work harder than I ever have before. I can relate to her because she’s been there as well, and it feels like she has as much invested in my goals as I do.  Even though I was in a car accident that left me with some lower back issues, she motivates me to not use this as an excuse or allow it to hinder my results, instead she listens and watches my body, then modifies accordingly. And we actually have FUN!

 

The facility itself is motivating, with people from all walks of life with different levels of fitness and different goals, but it really feels like we’re all on this journey together, towards better health. As a yo-yo dieter, I have a history of giving up on programs if I don’t see drastic results immediately. But with One-to-1 it’s different, I’ve learned so much about my body. Thanks to the nutrition program, I never feel hungry because I’m eating all the time. Cravings are gone and I don’t feel deprived. I can now do cardio sessions that I never thought I’d be able to get through. I can feel my body getting stronger, can see my muscles changing, and with my trainer at my side coaching me and encouraging me to keep going, well it’s just what I’ve been missing all these years. You always hear that diet and exercise is the only way, but I was always searching for something easier, a quick fix. When I think of all the money I wasted, I feel stupid that I didn’t just do this from the beginning. Now, every time I leave the gym I feel soempowered and proud of what I’ve accomplished. Suddenly the number on the scale doesn’t hold so much power for me anymore.

Kevin lost over 14lbs in 28 days!

kevinI learned that I need to eat, and eat right!  I feel I have had great results following the nutrition plan and attending bootcamps.  So far I’ve learned to eat…. a lot! Which has also been fun while losing weight! More importantly I’ve learned to eat the right balance of all foods, even though I snuck a couple tootsie rolls in there too!!
I have noticed a difference in the way I feel. My mood is more consistent. My clothes feel good, and I feel great inside. My wife and I have learned to cook together/ shop together, she has also joined me for boot camp which is awesome.  I have noticed a great change in her also.  Thanks to the whole Red Deer Fit Body Boot Camp / One-to-1 Fitness team!
Exercise and eating right is a lifestyle, there is so much information out there a person can get on the wrong track quickly.  Everyone at One to 1 Fitness makes this life journey enjoyable.

Craig and Cole lost 30lbs each!

20140513_135944My decision to join One to 1 Fitness was inspired by my father Craig. I had the opportunity to see him and watching all his positive changes and progressions. I saw that not only in his weight but his mobility and mentality in his day to day life. Craig and I have been challenging each other at the gym with the help of our trainer Whitney.

Our first goal was 20 pounds lost by his 53rd birthday. We both met 20 pounds and went on to drop another 10 by my birthday in the following couple of months. We are still going strong and plan to keep going!

 

 

 

 

 

20140221_133351Whitney’s energy and intensity keeps me coming back regularly for almost a year thus far. She does a fantastic job with followup and not letting me get off track. In this time I have been able to not only increase my strength and physical appearance but I have learned a lot from Whitney about how to eat properly, use proper form and most importantly enjoy working out!
