Growing Fitness Facility Hiring F/T Sales Associate

We’re presently hiring a F/T Sales Associate.

The right person for this position will be a self-starter as you will spend a large part of your time working on your own. Your designated shifts will be from 2:00PM to 8:30 PM (staying late may sometimes be required) Monday-Thursday with Friday hours required but flexible.

A few weekends will be required, though scheduled hours are less than 30 expect this to be a 40 hour a week position.

To be successful you will need to, and be expected to, be communicating with prospects and customers outside of designated hours and be willing to set appointments outside of these hours. The sooner you speak to a prospect the better your chances of striking a deal.

The right person will have sales experience and be very comfortable with the selling process. With that being said we are a non-traditional organization when it comes to sales. We do not utilize high pressure sales tactics but rather relationship selling combined with comprehensive guarantees, you will be required to be an empathetic salesperson. You will need to be a fitness enthusiast to have the required sincerity for success. (A training certification is a huge bonus but not required.) (HINT: We don’t believe in selling anything, but rather aim to make it very easy to try.)

The right person will be very comfortable with technology, you’ll be using a great deal of Google products (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Hangouts) and should be familiar with many of their features.

The right person will be fiercely organized, you will have specific and defined metrics to meet that will be reviewed weekly, monthly and quarterly. You will always have support but the right person is someone that can shift from task to task quickly, prioritize well, always meet deadlines and basically thrive in a little chaos.

Though your primary function will be the sales or our facility, you will have someone assisting you to set appointments but still be required to set a large number of your own sales appointments (you will not be required to generate leads though we hope you may contribute new creative strategies to extend our message.)

You will also need to manage some client documentation, some account management and ongoing client service. (Based on your success this may be delegated later.)

You will work closely with the owner and be required to submit daily reporting. The right person will be a capable problem solver but 100% coachable.

You will spend your day:

  • Monitoring our general email and ideally responding to new prospects in 30 minutes or less and current clients within a few hours.
  • You will be required to setup your own appointments. (We have great tools, and another staff member to help you.)
  • Managing multiple contact streams (email, text messages, CRM, social media)
  • Facilitating sales appointments and sales situations.
  • Interacting with current clients assisting with client account management, documentation and scheduling.
  • Having fun and changing the world!

What does this position look like in the short-term? It will be a demanding probationary period of learning our communication/sales methods and measuring your success, you will have specific targets to meet. Compensation will be based on salary, sales commissions & additional bonuses. Profit sharing bonuses after reaching set targets, and comprehensive benefits available from day 1.

What does this position look like long-term? Long term the sky’s the limit. Travel to career building events, the potential for growth of position in this location or one of our others or even our next location slated to open late 2016. What skills do I need today?

  • Previous sales experience is a must.
  • Basic fitness knowledge.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years post secondary education (preferably with a business or kinesiology related studies)
  • Current or previous fitness training certificate.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality/service industry or retail management.
  • Avid fitness enthusiast.
